Senator Smith's office faxed my letter (and "game plan") to him in Washington, D.C. today!
I'm glad there are people like that out there. That actually do something for a cause. But mostly it's just hooray for our side. Activists have been promoting this message for as long as I can remember, and it's a good cause. The bad news... congress is so divided and polarized, and the average American idiot simply doesn't give a shit until they wake up to a crisis.
And there are billions being spent every year by the big players on this problem; maybe one of them will get lucky. Unfortunately, I certainly have little faith in congress doing anything.
As I read over the above I realize how cynical I've become.
